If your thoughts are negative, and your inner dialogue is self-sabotaging, those are the frequencies you’re sending out into the Universe about yourself. The Universe will, in turn, take your thoughts and actions and return them to you. If you secretly say mean and nasty things about yourself or others, the Universe will mirror your actions and send mean and nasty people in your direction. If you secretly do not love yourself, the Universe will send people into your life who secretly don't love you, so you can see what needs to be addressed within you.

Energy is everything, and it is the only language the Universe understands. You can manipulate a bunch of things within this life, but energy is not one of them. When you get a feel for someone’s energy, believe it because it’s their truth at that time. I used to be so guilty of completely ignoring what my intuition was telling me about people who were in need, and guess what would happen? It always came back to bite me in the end. The Universe would literally send me a snapshot, and I would ignore that information out of naivete. I believed because I did not have bad intent for others, other people didn’t either—they just needed a little help. When the Universe was sharing a personal reflection with me, I had to learn to either believe it or ignore it and learn the lesson the hard way. I thought I had it all together, but what the Universe was reflecting back to me was saying otherwise. The Universe had to show me the truth of who I was so I could balance and heal those parts of me. That's when I began to understand the Universe was not a punishment mechanism, but a balancing system created by Source/God to assist us all while were on the journey (no matter what type of journey).

I know many beautiful women in my day job industry who are aesthetically pretty, but energetically, they are constantly projecting programs of ugliness about themselves out into the Universe. They don’t have problems meeting men; their dilemma is keeping them. They don’t realize that the way they feel about themselves is sending a subliminal signal out in the form of energy. When your reflection is unhealthy and not loving, a loving and healthy woman/man will not stay around that kind of energy, no matter what you look like (unless they are unhealthy, too, and we all know what type of relationship that creates: trauma bonding). If you want an example of a trauma bond, go watch the Tina Turner movie about her life story. Healthy men quickly become uninterested in emotionally unhealthy women because the women are uninterested in themselves. This goes for both men and women. Most people don’t know how to be honest enough with themselves to discover the distorted patterns as a common theme in their break-up history. In any situation, you are always the common denominator that attracted that partner to you, so no pointing fingers at anyone but yourself.

No one can truly fall in love with you until you learn how to fall in love with yourself. No one can truly forgive you until you learn how to forgive yourself truly. No one can truly see your light until you can see the light within you first.

How you feel about yourself is a huge broadcast signal the Universe catches and reflects back to you with people, places and situations. What’s the solution to ensuring a harmonious reflection? Healing the traumas you can identify. You do this by first falling in love with yourself, for self-love is how you love God/Source, and honoring the God within. This will allow you to go deeper when you’re ready to open up more healing if necessary. Anyone can get started by holding a mirror up and observing their self-talk, thoughts, reactions, and feelings. If what’s reflected at you is not positive, it’s time to be honest and start analyzing the relationship you have with yourself—and this has to happen before you can establish a healthy relationship with another. Unresolved traumas are usually the biggest culprit contributing to a disharmonious reflection. And sometimes the trauma may be the result of another lifetime that’s still affecting you in this life. Remember, energy doesn’t die—it has to be released or transmuted, or it will stay within your energetic signature for eons. I repeat, energy will not go away or die; it has to be released or transmuted, period!

Without going into specific details, in April, my higher self guided me in releasing and alchemizing some unhealthy energy I had been carrying within my energetic field since primordial times. For anyone who doesn't understand how long I was holding on to that unhealthy energy, let’s just say since the beginning of what we call time here on Earth. There is no way I would have known that was holding me back if I were not connected to my higher self and my heart guiding me to remove any energy that was no longer serving me. I still was in a state of disbelief until the release fully hit, and oh, did I know it was real because the visceral reaction in my body was all the confirmation I needed. They say your body keeps the score, and I got a true witness of that as my body released all that ancient, trapped, traumatized energy. My body shook, trembled, and buzzed, starting in my legs and rippling all the way up until it was transmuted into forgiveness and released. If I were on the fence about the energy being trapped within my vessel for ions, my body’s reaction during the release made it clear! Again, don’t be so quick to think this life is the only life that matters because that’s not always the case. If you can’t quite track the source of the trauma (not that tracking it is necessary because it's not), chances are it could be from another life. Or it may not need to be recalled, just released. Some traumas aren’t meant to be relived. I don’t want to trigger anyone, but I had a lifetime where someone gutted me so bad it was a miracle I survived, but I did, and before it happened, a guiding angel rushed to pull my soul out of my body and kept me separate until after all the surgeries were over and they had put what was left of my stomach back together to the best of their ability. So I never saw what happened, but my energetic body remembered the traumatic event, and therefore, the energy had to be transmuted. Either way, regardless of the lifetime or age of the trauma, if it is being presented in your reflection or preventing you from moving forward, releasing it is necessary.

So one last note on reflection. My son called me on Mother’s Day, and as we began to talk, he confided in me how, after all these years, there is just one person around whom he feels he cannot be himself. He explained that he would like to be himself around this person, but after wearing a facade for so long, he was afraid this person would not like the truth of who he is. I began to ask leading questions as to why he felt this person would not like him if he were completely transparent, and he said that he couldn’t quite recall all the details, but he remembered a conversation he had with this particular family member when he was about six or seven years old. This person was an authoritative figure and may have been projecting a childhood trauma, for they unknowingly accused him of covering up being bullied at school. He said he tried to plead with this person, that was not the case, but the adult became angry, accused him of lying, and threatened to punish him. This, in turn, created a trauma response that caused my son to form a persona he felt would be more acceptable to this family member. Except now it’s a persona he’s struggling with because he just wants to be his authentic self when he’s around this person, but the facade always seems to show up and show out.

I say all of that to preface his next point in our discussion: that he could not understand why all the new people he was meeting in his life were not authentic at all. He went on for another five minutes about how he thought a co-worker was one way, but he found out that was a facade, and that he’s tired of meeting people who are wearing facades. (At what point should I have started humming the melody for the song “Man in the Mirror”?)

Still, I know he will find his way much sooner than I did. At his age, I was secretly reading books on spirituality, trying to balance my chakras with gemstones, receiving Reiki certifications while presenting myself to the world as a normal matrix-driven individual. So I know what it feels like to hide in a closet and not be authentically yourself. I also now know there is a plethora of wisdom inherited from that experience, regardless of the closet. You know why? Because there is a spiritual marination process that takes place without any outside distraction. So once you no longer need its safety and finally come out, baby, that coming out is a soulful celebration. No more suppressing who you are to fit in! That’s the reason you will notice anyone coming out of a closet is so unapologetically bold but respectful. And as they should be! Can I please get a witness!

At the end of the day, experiences are the reasons we drop down to play this game of life, right? So let’s live, experience, and expand while clearing what we no longer desire from our reflection--what’s in your reflection these days?
